AskGrand is operated by T. A. Thompson Enterprise, LLC ("AskGrand", "we", "us"). We act as the data controller for the personal information processed through our service.

2. Personal data we collect

• Account data: name, email, login credentials.
• Profile & learner data: information you provide about the learner using the service.
• Usage data: interactions with lessons, prompts, progress, device identifiers, IP address, log/telemetry data.
• Support data: messages you send to us.
• Payment data: handled by our Merchant of Record, Paddle. We receive transaction metadata (e.g. order ID, last 4 digits, billing country), not full card details.

3. Why we use your data and our legal basis

• Provide and operate the service — performance of our contract with you.
• Process payments, taxes, invoicing, and refunds — performance of contract and legal obligation (via Paddle).
• Security, fraud prevention, and abuse detection — legitimate interest.
• Customer support — performance of contract.
• Product improvement and analytics — legitimate interest.
• Marketing communications — consent (you can withdraw at any time).

4. Who we share data with

• Paddle.com Market Ltd. — our Merchant of Record for all sales. Paddle processes payments, manages subscriptions, handles tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds. See Paddle's privacy notice at paddle.com.
• Service providers / subprocessors: hosting, database, email delivery, analytics, and customer-support tools acting on our instructions.
• Professional advisers: legal, accounting, and compliance advisers when needed.
• Authorities: where required by applicable law or to protect rights and safety.

5. International transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country of residence. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

6. Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When no longer needed, data is deleted or anonymized.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. EEA/UK users have the right to lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority. We respond to verified requests within one month.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege practices — to protect your data.

9. Children

AskGrand is designed for use by families. Accounts must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian on behalf of any minor learner.

We use essential cookies for authentication and limited analytics cookies to understand product usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
